Land water air
Successful and environmentally sustainable projects require careful planning and management of air, land and water resources at project sites.
Building a sustainable future on resilient foundations means that construction projects and operations need to balance and, where possible, restore the health of our soil, air and water systems.
We work with our clients to identify potential environmental risks, assess their impacts on land, water, and air, and implement measures to manage and mitigate these impacts during the planning and construction and operational phases
Land, water and air services
Our experience assessing and managing soil contamination and toxicity, erosion and sediment control across a broad array of projects and landscapes means we can apply a cost effective and practical approaches to your soil and water management challenges. We can also deliver soil surveys to inform land development planning and approval.
NGH specialists bring expertise in water monitoring, management, and regulatory compliance to a range of industries, including infrastructure development and construction, aquaculture, mining, and marine. Our work helps ensure sustainable and responsible use and management of water, protecting the environment and human health.
Air
To safeguard air quality, we undertake a range of assessments and monitoring. Dust deposition monitoring examines dust levels before, during, and after construction. Air quality assessments are required to avoid and minimise environmental harm to air quality including from dust, smoke and offensive odours and other air pollutants. Additionally, air quality monitoring services are undertaken according to Australia Standard measurement techniques and consider a variety of factors including the location of sensitive receivers, wind direction, and speeds. Monitoring is usually required for works likely to cause environmental nuisances such as blasting, excavation, crushing, screening, earthworks, workshops, concrete batching and mixing plants.
Environmental Monitoring
As a project progresses from its initial approvals stage through to construction and ultimately closure, the need for environmental management and controls evolves. Our team has extensive expertise and capacity to provide customised environmental monitoring programs, to navigate the various stages of your project’s life cycle. We use advanced techniques including GIS mapping, remote sensing and cutting-edge data management and trend analysis of monitoring programs.
We must recognise that land, water, and air are all part of a larger connected system, and any changes or impacts to one element can have far-reaching consequences for the others. There are certain thresholds or limits for these interconnected systems that should not be exceeded in order to maintain a stable and habitable planet. We can dramatically minimise impacts through thorough environmental management at project stage.”
